Experience

Reverend Lucas Walker, MDiv., MATS, was born and raised in the western Colorado high desert. He attended a private Wyoming Bible college, graduating with a degree in Christian Education.

When it was safe to do so, he moved to Fort Collins on the front range of Colorado, and came out. He then worked for six years at an HIV/AIDS nonprofit organisation, providing volunteer coordination, sexual health education, case management, and grant development. For the same six years, he also worked as a volunteer victim’s advocate at a Loveland, CO nonprofit for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.

He is himself a survivor of sexual violence and complex religious and familial trauma, which informs his education, training, and experience. He is a white cis gay/queer man and his pronouns are he/him.

Rev. Lucas moved to California in 2008, graduating from San Francisco Theological Seminary (now a part of the University of Redlands) with a Master’s in Divinity in 2012, followed by a second Master of Arts in Theological Studies, concentrating in religion and psychology, in 2015.

Rev. Lucas has served as Pastoral Care Associate at the seminary since 2010, and is ordained through the Order of Universal Interfaith.

In his free time, Rev. Lucas is an avid reader, writer, painter, and cook. He also adores film and music.
